The Beach

We decided it was time to head to the beach. Even though we live so close we just seem to forget about this amazing place. We first headed towards the lighthouse, you couldn't tell until you were out there that the point was surrounded by fog, and the wind was crazy, thank goodness we have a pass that lets us in free or it would've been a waste of money, we didn't even leave the car! :) We could see that the beach just down the road was not foggy so we decided to head down and play there. We were amazed at the drifts that now covered the beach (the beach was perfectly flat when we were there in January). Of course the girls loved running up and down them. The weather was nice on the beach, the sun warmed the sand, it was almost too hot, but I love warmth on my feet, they always seem cold. We had a great day playing together, we always do. And of course on the way home we had to stop by Mo's for some yummy food.

Getting ready to go down the drift for the first time
Each time Cal did it, I thought she was going to do a face plant, but who knows why she never did! She can't even walk on flat ground without falling!

On your Mark, Get Set, GO!

and they were off, Cal had the lead....
But Lora over took her!
Cal just LOVED these piles of wet sand, it was almost like throwing snowballs!

This was how foggy it was by the lighthouse. You can't even see it.

Run girls RUN!

I LOVE this shot, Dad had to pull his shorts up just like his girls.

Oh my goodness, I do exist. My wonderful husband decided to grab the camera and shot a few shots of his girls!

Had to grab her and run before we got soaked! :)
She loves being chased!

And this is Cal's before shot, taken moments before the next one.....

Yep, she face planted into the water, every time one of the girls does it, which means, soaking wet and sand EVERYWHERE, poor thing!

This next photo Lora took, and you can always tell Lora's, her subjects are never the primary focus in the picture. It's art! :) And nothing a little cropping won't fix, but I try to leave "her copy" as well, so I can remember.
Time to dig and build

I don't know what gave them the idea for "snow" angels, but man they really got sand in every crack they had. But hey they had fun......
And their Angels
Sand, Sand, Everywhere
And this is what happened as soon as we got them in clean, dry clothes!
