We got to go snowshoeing for the first time this season! Papa and Mamaw Brown watched the girls all day which freed us up to have a day of fun. We invited Chad and Nate to come up with us to Maxwell Butte. It was their first time ever snowshoeing, so they weren't sure what to expect, and we weren't going to ruin the surprise! I called G I Joes the day before to rent snowshoes for Nate and Chad (we have our own) and a boy scout troop had just came in and wiped them out, so I had to drive all the way to Albany to get theirs, but it was so worth it. Jerime was sure that we'd freeze because of the cold temperatures, but I tried to tell him we always get hot because we are working out so much, and sure enough as we started hiking we were taking off layers! We decided to hike up to the shelter to see the view, and it was a good hike up we made several stops because we were all in such "great" shape! I can't imagine how much harder it would've been if the snow was like normal, because the snow was perfect to snowshoe in, it was powdery so you weren't getting alot or resistance like you would in snow that is really wet. Of course the view from above was perfect, it was such a clear day and you could see for miles! Of course what took us 2 hours to climb up took us 45 minutes to go back down, we didn't even need to stop once on the way down! We all had a great time, at first they were not loving the climb, but the way back down made it all worth it, and by then Nate was finally not tripping over his snow shoes! But it was funny watching him get his feet caught up in one another!
